What happens after you get what you want?

You ever had that so-stoked-but-also-WTF-happens-now feeling when you reach a goal or you finally do that thing you’ve been wanting to for YEARS?

I’ve had this feeling once or twice before, and it's hit me again in the last week (after I finally landed in Canada as a Permanent Resident after a very, very long time going through the process). I’m not gonna lie — it’s weird as fuck man. I imagine it might be slightly different for things you have control over vs things that are out of your control, but for the most part I think its similar…

You spend what feels like FOREVER chasing this thing, you put countless hours, energy, money, everything into it — and it genuinely feels like one of the hardest things you’ve done in your life, and then it just fucking happens. You cross the finish line.

I’ve come to realise that even after you get what you want — there’s more life. There’s more shit you’ll have to deal with and more adventures to be had. As fucking cool as it is that you did that HUGE thing you’ve been trying to do for what feels like forever, it doesn’t mean everything is going to be straight smooth sailing.

So what happens after you get what you want?

I can’t say I have a solid answer to that… But I’m pretty sure it involves giving yourself a lotta space… And permission to chill the fuck out.

ps. I tried to write this post SO many times, so hopefully it makes sense and isn’t too much of a shit show. Lols.

pps. If you've sent any good vibes for me making it to Canada, THANK YOU! The emails + DM's I've had over the last few weeks have been pretty awesome and I'm stoked to have such a rad internet fam. 😘 🇨🇦

Also... The pic used above is by Julian DeSchutter.

Stay cool,
